SUDDEN HAIR LOSS, WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE?

People often fail to realize how stress affects their physical health as well as hair health. However, it affects the overall health of an individual. This does not mean stress is always bad. Sometimes, stress is good for making an individual focused towards an approach and deciding better.

In fact, some people perform better under stress and do much better. Stress up to a certain level is good, although there are no fixed parameters to establish up to what level it is good but severe stress leads to diseases like anxiety, sudden hair loss and other physical health problems. Many of the people associate stress directly with sudden hair loss.

Telogen Effluvium is a kind of hair loss that occurs due to severe or sudden stress. Heavy stress in a person does the shedding of hair that pushes premature hair follicles into the resting phase. Sudden hair loss due to stress in a person appears within 2 to 3 months after facing some stressful situations. Although, our hair falls daily and falling off about 100 hairs per day is considered very normal. In stressful circumstances a person losses almost 300 – 400 hair per day and almost 70% of the hair scalps. Sudden hair loss is temporary in most of the cases. However, in some of the cases, the sudden hair loss problem undergoes continue till the problem of stress is solved.

There is a well-said quote, ‘every problem has a solution’, and so the problem of sudden hair loss too. Treating sudden hair loss naturally is one of the best ways to solve the problem. Are you wondering, how?

Here are few tips to solve your hair loss problems and easing your level of stress:

hair loss cure

Do physical exercises: Your body secrets out a hormone called adrenaline that is good for you but when body secretes this hormone in excess, this causes stress and sudden hair loss. Doing regular exercise and physical workout reduces the level of adrenaline hormone in your body. If you do a physical workout on a regular basis, your body and mind will be relaxed and you will get much better sleep. Your health will also improve as a result of physical exercise.

Take enough sleep and relax: Take proper sleep and do some relaxation. You do not need special techniques to relax. You only need a peaceful place, which you have to create, be it your bedroom or office. Just sit in good posture, keep your body straighten, do some deep breathing and focus on good thoughts. You can use your office desk during a short tea break or lunch hour to do the same. Include relaxation in your daily routine for 20 minutes or so, daily. You will notice the significant change in your lifestyle once you start doing this stress-busting exercise. Good sleep is very important in easing stress. Sleep enough and sleep properly to ease your symptom of stress. Once your level of stress or adrenaline in your body starts dipping, the hair loss will automatically decrease if not, you can use a toupee for men to cover the bold part.

Have good diet: Eat a good diet. Take a diet rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals in sufficient amount. Eat whole grain bread, dairy products (milk, cheese, butter, etc) and poultry products like eggs and chickens. Also, include in your diet fishes and meats. Avoid added sugars. Eat a lot of leafy green vegetables and whole fruits.

Doing all above will help you in staying in good shape and relieving your stress. This ultimately will solve your sudden hair loss problems.

This is a nice topic for ladies especially and even some men who care about all body parts. My elder sister got pregnant for her second baby, and marrying someone from the southern part of Nigeria (Akwa Ibom) where they eat lots of vegetables. All through her pregnancy, she ate more vegetables than any other food. when the baby was born, she was so hairy that we didn't know how she got that feature.

one day while attending a seminar for new moms and infants, a lady saw us and asked,''are you from calabar or akwa ibom? we said yes 9 we are not from any of these places, she married from there). We asked her why asked the question? Only for her to say ''i know you must have eaten lots of vegetables while pregnant and its only vegetables that could make a child have this kind of hair''

we didn't cut the hair till after three years in 2016 July. She is 3 now and very troublesome, lol.

Telogen effluvium can also happen for a bunch of other reasons, from iron deficiency to thyroid disease, so while it's always good to work on stress levels, it's also important to go to the doctor if the loss doesn't stop after about 2 months. I had a really bad hair loss years ago because of a lack of iron, it's very common among women in fact!

I think it is normal to loose hair during Autumn, but if that loss continues than we should try to do some things to prevent it. I love your tips. Healthy diet and exercise are perfect ways to prevent and reduce stress.

I love how you always share such great health related info that's practical enough to understand and implement into everyday life! I've never really experienced hair loss like this, though when I did have a benign tumor (fibroadenoma) I did experience some momentary pattern baldness, which was one of the warning signs for me at the time that something was wrong. It's so important to be in tune with ourselves and body! Thank so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having the best start to your week so far!

Stress and sleep are huge for me. My hair has definitely gotten thinner. Working out and tying hair too tightly regularly for the gym is also not so good for me. I worked out a lot and would strap it all back tightly. Now I just braid my hair when I work out.

My friend did a did a blood test and you many metals in the body also lead to more hair loss. Too much in her water at the condo and pipes so she moved and it's been much better.

    Great post. Thanks for sharing.

A good diet is really really important, what we put in our bodies will show on the outside. And also we must avoid stress. I have a thing called 'seasonal loss of hair', whenever the season and weather changes I lose a great amount of hair but it lasts about a month. And fortunately, my head is full of baby hair so thank god, they are growing back 🙂
